Viren M Mascarenhas

Lecturer in Law

Viren Mascarenhas has been an adjunct professor at Columbia Law School since 2009.  He currently co-teaches an upper-level seminar on International Commercial Arbitration.  Previously, Viren worked as a senior associate in the International Arbitration Group at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and as a legal officer at the Special Court for Sierra Leone, a U.N.-backed hybrid war crimes tribunal.  He also clerked for H.E. Dame Rosalyn Higgins at the International Court of Justice in 2005-2006. Viren received his J.D. from Columbia Law School and his LL.M. specializing in International Dispute Resolution from the University of London.  In May 2014, the New York Law Journal recognized Viren as a "Rising Star" for lawyers under the age of 40.
